I am frequently asked by my male model and headshot clients if they should shave prior to their session. With facial hair being a huge trend right now, I encourage them to do both. Why not show a little more versatility and range in your look. At the end of the day, your headshots and portfolio are all about you showing who you are and your potential for future bookings. So with that said, don't limit yourself!
One of our recent DC actor headshot clients is a great examples of how we can get two very different looks in one session. Check out Thomas below, with and without facial hair.

One of my favorite things to do as a photographer is to work with other creative and talented individuals. A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to work with Tommy, a local tattoo artist I must say I was quite impressed by his personal ink, aka body art. I had previously had the opportunity to see his paintings and work he had done on others, but I always find it interesting to see the work tattoo artist choose for themselves. So now we share it with you!
These images were shot in studio using Hensel Interga 500s. Mostly with a one light set up and some fill. I used my tether tools kit to tether straight to my Mac Book Pro. It's a lifesaver.
